PVC-GLAS are transparent rigid compact sheets made of extruded PVC. They have a slight bluish tint and are glossy on both sides.
PVC-GLAS sheets can be used to make various products in the advertising industry, such as: light boxes, displays, advertising stands, thermoformed parts, exhibition stands, advertising signs, TV studios, etc., especially in applications which require materials to be fire resistant according to fire class B1 – DIN 4102.
PVC-GLAS is recommended for use in all applications where transparent sheets with high rigidity, excellent chemical resistance, fire resistance according to fire class B1 – DIN 4102 and working temperature from 0°C to +60°C are required.
PVC-GLAS sheets are resistant to the action of many chemicals, such as most dilute or high-concentration acids, salts or alkaline chemicals. At the same time, these sheets are very rigid and hard, compared to standard polypropylene or polyethylene sheets.
PVC-GLAS is used in the production of various transparent products, such as tanks, vats, railing protections or floors in the chemical industry. The design of the above applications must consider the operating temperature range of PVC sheets, which is from 0°C to +60°C.
Unlike PP and PE sheets, PVC-GLAS can be glued with the usual adhesives for gluing PVC. For the production of tanks, vats or any other product subjected to high chemical and mechanical loads, we recommend that the PVC-GLAS sheets are welded with PVC-GLAS welding electrodes.
PVC-GLAS sheets are not protected against UV rays and are not recommended for use in outdoor applications.
If you have to carry out a work (e.g. a metal coating plant) in which you know the chemical used, the concentration of the chemical, the working temperature and the tank volume required, fill-in the attached questionnaire and our consultants together with SIMONA AG Germany will send you a professional offer that meets your requirements and safety rules for the construction of that tank.
Applications and benefits
Applications of PVC-GLAS sheets:
PVC-GLAS is recommended for use in all applications where transparent sheets with high rigidity, excellent chemical resistance, fire resistance according to fire class B1 – DIN4102 and working temperature from 0°C to + 60°C are required. Thus, PVC-GLAS sheets are used to make:
light boxes in indoor applications
thermoformed products in the advertising industry
billboards
printed, screen-printed, engraved, stamped, etc. products.
interior plating
displays
TV studios
exhibition stands
facilities in the chemical industry
Benefits of PVC-GLAS sheets: high degree of light transmission
high dimensional stability
high rigidity
fire resistant according to fire class B1 – DIN4102
good chemical resistance to acids, alkalis and saline solutions
low coefficient of thermal expansion compared to PE or PP
excellent electrical insulation properties
can be cut, welded, bent, thermoformed, glued, printed
