Extruded PC sheets are obtained by extrusion, are glossy on both sides, have excellent optical properties and can be delivered clear, opaque or colored.
Extruded PC combines a wide variety of special features, so it can be used in a wide range of applications. It is one of the most advanced transparent plastics currently available on the market because it is very impact resistant, has a high transparency, low weight, very long durability, operates in a very wide range of working temperatures and has high fire resistance.
It is transparent as glass, 200 times more impact resistant than glass and is twice as light as glass, at the same thickness. The absolute resistance to breakage of extruded PC sheets qualifies it as the best solution for making protective windows in a single layer, which must withstand hammer blows, stone blows, etc.
It can be heat or cold bent (under certain conditions) and can be easily processed. Thus, extruded PC sheets are widely used to make roofs, skylights, protective windows for machinery, sound barriers, windows for bus stations, etc.
Extruded PC can also be made with ultraviolet protection, by integrating a UV-resistant coextruded layer on both sides of the sheet. The lifespan of UV-protected sheets exceeds 10 years.
Extruded PC sheets are available under various trade names: Solid Polycarbonate, Lexan, Makrolon, etc.
